The existing property had a bigger and wider than normal rear projection on two levels. Our initial inclination was that, although the reception rooms would benefit from linkage to the rear space via a small side extension, a further rear extension was not necessary. The owners had more ambition than that, resulting in a large open kitchen/dining space with the benefit of an additional seating area in the linkage from the rear reception room. This additional width also facilitated placing the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom above the kitchen in the quieter rear section of the property.
