Bought in a derelict state this property has been extended in all directions to increase the floor area by over 60%. The client brief was extensive: five bedrooms, a home office, Pilates studio and an ecologically sound approach overall.
Existing cellars were dug out to create a new lower ground floor which contains the kitchen, TV snug and dining area which opens onto the garden. The Pilates studio is separated by a solid moveable wall and has its own access to the garden. A frosted glass screen forms the rear wall to the Pilates studio that allows indirect light into the new stair. A utility, pantry and WC complete this level. The upper ground floor has two formal reception rooms, an office and family bathroom. Four kids bedrooms and a shower room complete the next level. The new attic master bedroom with en-suite and dressing room has an openable glazed screen to take advantage of the panoramic views.
