Coleridge Road

We were absolutely delighted with how our project turned out. While on paper a relatively simple and small extension, the effect was to completely upgrade the house and transform how we lived in it. The elements of the project that Martyn emphasized; the expansive roof lights, the large sliding doors and digging down to improve the ceiling height, lifted it from a run of the mill side extension to a surprisingly bright and generous space that was good to be in. While always being aware of budgetary constraints, Martyn was very good at advising where to spend and which details to include. The result was a project that gave us much more than just the additional square footage, it elevated the look and feel of the whole house'.

We were somewhat apprehensive with some of the client choices in both the material and colour palette for this project but sometimes youve just got to run with it. It wasnt so much the choice of material but the contrast in terms of light and shade. We shouldnt have been so apprehensive, the result is a rich, warm and dynamic sequence of spaces to the remodelled and extended ground floor. A fumed oak floor to the front reception rooms contrasts with the polished concrete of the kitchen and the colour of the island unit link with that of the double doors to the rearreception room. Worktops in stainless steel and walnut along with a splashback in individually arranged marble tiles complete the material palette to the kitchen.
