With a young family, the clients were in need of additional space, particularly for the kids. The property sits on a terrace on quite a steep hill which requires a sensitive approach to a side extension in order not to prejudice their neighbour down the hill. The new extension has been set lower into the ground by approx 500 mm and profiled along its boundary edge to deal with this condition. The resultant space is light and airy with bags of storage to deal with all that clutter that comes as part of the package with kids. More recently a further loft addition has been added creating a guest bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Access is via a spiral stair positioned neatly on the first-floor landing.
