Bromwich Avenue

"Martyn designed and project managed the transformation of our dated 1920s semi into a light, bright contemporary home with some creative touches that really make it stand out. By choosing the same tried and tested techniques and materials used on his other projects we achieved a stunning end result cost-effectively and remarkably quickly."

Most projects sit within conservation areas so there is always a fair amount of legislation to wade through. This project was further compounded because it was part of a 1920s private estate with a further set of rules to comply with. Having negotiated all the red tape we were able to extend up into the attic and out to the rear at ground floor level to add just under 40% to the original building footprint. All internal doors were replaced to match the original designas was the additional flight of stairs between first and second floors. At the new attic level the size of the new dormers were strictly regulated to meet the conservation requirements. Window profiles match identically those of the originals Reclaimed clay tiles were used to blend in with the adjacent adjoined roof.
